Lloyd Vance Stone, Jr. age 58 of Conway, died Thursday, February 28, 2002. Born October 21, 1943, in Russell, Kansas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Vance Stone of Fort Smith, he was a businessman and a member of Family Life Bible Church. Mr. Stone was past president of the Gideons International and was
currently serving as chairman of the International Extension Committee. He was also past chairman of the Arkansas Republican party and was presently serving as a member of the Republican National Committee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Morse Stone. He is survived by a daughter, Julie Stone Kennedy of Conway; three sons, Lloyd Vance Stone, III and Clayborne Sharpe Stone, both of Fayetteville, and Wesley Morse Stone, of Conway. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Carey Kennedy of Conway. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. John E. Coleman of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Family Life Bible Church, 150 S. Hogan Lane, Conway, with Pastor Neal Winstead officiating. Entombment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Family Life Bible Church.
Pallbearers will be Richard P. Osborne, Phillip M. Dayer, David H. Pratt, Richard Bearden, Dr. Carl Redden, Sen. Tim Hutchinson, Ray Nelson, and Larry Aspegren.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International Living Memorial Bible Plan.
