Living Tribute to Sibyl F. Howell

Sibyl F. Howell, 86, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2006. She was born February 4, 1920, in Greenbrier to the late Oscar Levi Tyler and Ruby (Cowan) Tyler.

She was a 1939 graduate of Greenbrier High School and worked at Conway Human Development Center for 17 years before retiring. Mrs. Howell was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier.

She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed making quilts, needle work and was a great gardener.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Wade J. Howell; a daughter, Frances Wadette Matthews and husband W. Joseph of Euless, TX; two sons, Tommy Gene Howell and wife Doris of Greenbrier and Jimmy Dale Howell and wife Dian of Conway; three grandchildren, William Joseph Matthews, Jr. and wife Dr. Lauri of Coppell, TX, Melissa Jane Corrigan and husband Michael of Greenbrier, and Katrina Jane Ray and husband Terry of Guy; four great-grandchildren, Jesse Ray, Ashley Ray, Caleb Corrigan, and Sarah Elizabeth Matthews; and a nephew, Bill Reedy of Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jerry Wade Howell, a granddaughter, Cynthia Jane Matthews, a sister, Helen Reedy Beasley, and an infant brother, John William Tyler.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Gaylon King and Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Pallbearers will be Robert Branscum, Todd Cardin, Bob Clark, Jeff Henry, Larry Reynolds, and Monnie Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Batson, the Immanuel Baptist Church Couples Class, and Hospice Home Care of Conway.

Memorials may be made to the Women's Auxiliary at Immanuel Baptist Church or the Leukemia Society of America.
